The Mission to Seafarers (MTS) has formally executed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) with Marino World (MW), the organizer of the Marino World Manning Expo and Conference (MWMEC) 2026, which will be held at the World Trade Center Manila from September 23 to 26.
MTS is a global maritime charity organization committed to supporting seafarers and their families across the world and advancing their moral, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Ms. Lala Tolentino Rahon, MTS country manager, and Ms. Lyn Bacani, Marino World publisher and MWMEC chair, signed the MOU, witnessed by MTS information and welfare officer Mr. Neil Cabigas and MWMEC event coordinator Ms. Jomerica de Paz.
MTS will host a special session for seafarers during the MWMEC event, in addition to manning an information and service booth. MTS also plays an essential role in organizing the conference program and promoting the event to our seafarers.
Last year, MWMEC drew over 10,000 Filipino seafarers to its Job Fair, which is the expo’s centerpiece. Representatives from the government, industry and labor unions were gathered to discuss the issues and concerns on the employment and welfare of our seafarers.
MWMEC, now on its second year is set to grow as Marino World continues to collaborate with government agencies, non-government organizations and the private sectors to ensure the event’s success.
This year’s theme is “Steering the course: Philippine Maritime Workforce in the Global Shipping Era”.
